General Questions
NotifEye Messenger
Generally 1 SMS credit = 1 SMS message, however in some instances networks will charge 2 or more credits to deliver your SMS. See our SMS coverage page to get an idea of the credit cost to send to your chosen destination networks. Our message credits are priced according to how many you buy. The more you buy the cheaper it gets.
NotifEye subscribes to an Anti-Spam policy for all its communication protocols. This means that we do not condone unsolicited messages, notifications, alerts or any message that you may receive from someone who should not have your address or mobile number. The converse also applies, i.e. you should not send any such messages under the same conditions.
The timestamp on SMS messages is unfortunately not a feature controlled by NotifEye. The timestamp with the delivery time is set by the international carrier responsible for the delivery. Most carriers will use GMT time for the timestamp, but they may also attempt to set the timezone for the destination country, or alternatively use their own local time.
Currently NotifEye cannot guarantee delivery to roaming handsets, and we suggest that you do not send messages to roaming phones. We use a specific delivery route to deliver the SMS to the handset according to the Operator. This same delivery route may not deliver to the operator's roaming partner in the country where the handset is roaming. While it is possible that the message could be delivered, it is also possible that it will not be delivered, or that it is delivered multiple times. For all these cases the message will be charged.
Currently NotifEye offers sender ID support to a limited number of networks as delivery with sender ID support is usually more expensive. In future an option will become available in NotifEye Messenger that allows you to specify that messages must be sent at higher charges if needed to support sender ID.
Step 1.
Download NotifEye Messenger to your PC, and double click on the NotifEyeMessenger.exe file to install the product.

Step 2.
Once installed, you will need to register your product. Click on the "Register" button and fill in your details in the registration area. Press "OK" to complete your registration.

Step 3.
Enter your details to login to NotifEye Messenger (Make sure the "work offline" button is not ticked). Click the Options tab. Fill in your mobile number (international format) in the "Sender ID:" field.

Step 4.
Once logged in you will need to purchase SMS credits. To do this, click on the Options tab and click the Buy Credits button. Follow the instructions on the Purchase page.
Click on the "Buy Credits" button under the "Options" tab. This will open up the NotifEye Website . Click on the "Purchase" link. Enter the number of credits that you would like and then click on the PayPal button. If paying by cheque, you send us a cheque with your details we will do the rest.
In order to add a contact you will first need to set up a group in your Address Book by clicking on "New Group" found under the "Addresses" tab. Once having named a group, click on the group name in your address book, and click the "New Contact" button to add a contact. This will open up a page for you to fill your contact's details. Press "OK" to save the information. If you need to upload contacts from a spreadsheet, then select a group in your address book. Select the "Upload" button, and "Browse" for a CSV file from your PC making sure it is in the correct format . Click "OK" and your spreadsheet imports will automatically be uploaded to your group. Note, the NotifEye Messenger address book also allows you to import your contacts direct from MS Outlook.
Under the "SMS" tab, the buttons to the right of the Message field offer opportunity to merge fields from your address book into your messages. For instance using the "Firstname" field will change your message from Dear #FNAME# to Dear Pete, Dear John, etc. by pulling the relevant contact names from your address book. Using the "Custom" merge field for instance you could personalise an account balance for each recipient which you could easily have imported from a spreadsheet on your PC.
The so called "From" field is otherwise known as Sender ID. You can change this by clicking on the "Options" tab. At the bottom left of the page is an "Extra Settings" field where you can fill in a name of your choosing as the Sender ID. Note: Sender ID does not work with all networks. Note that our Terms and Conditions of use prevent you from using this facility to hide or "spoof" your real identity, and we carry out regular checks to ensure this does not occur. Abusing this facility can mean cancellation of your account with no refund.
Type in your message and choose a recipient under the SMS tab. Then, instead of clicking "Send" choose the "Schedule" button next to it. This will open up a new page for you to select a date and time for your message to be sent.
Click on the Outbox tab. Your Outbox keeps a list of all sent messages and their delivery status.
Messenger will run comfortably on Microsoft® Windows™ 98, ME, 2000, NT and XP.
Log in to NotifEye Messenger and click on the Options tab. Under 'Outlook Profile Settings' select WAB. Click on the SMS tab. Right click on the Outlook icon and choose 'Rebuild'. Try clicking on the Outlook icon and then expanding it to display your contacts. If this still results in an error, return to the Options tab and select Outlook/MAPI. Repeat the rebuild procedure and try and expand to display the contacts.
NotifEye Messenger does not automatically update your balance if you are offline. Your balance is kept on our server and an online query is necessary to keep it up to date. If your balance indicates a question mark (?) in the balance field you are in offline mode. In this event you should select to go online from the Options tab to instantly update your balance. This has to be done when you are actually online. Credits not decreasing might also indicate messages being sent properly, not delivered due to routing errors caused by unsupported features to a network or sending messages via a 1 credit route when the destination network costs 2 credits or more.
This error can be generated under the following conditions:

- You are not connected to the internet,
- Your firewall is blocking the application,
- You have not yet specified your proxy settings in the application.

If you have a firewall installed on your computer, it needs to be configured to allow NotifEye Messenger access to the internet.

If you are on a network, you may need to specify your proxy settings. To configure your proxy settings, right click on the NotifEye Messenger icon in the system tray and select 'proxy settings'. You can then specify your proxy settings. The settings that you need to specify will be specific to your network - please consult your network administrator.
NotifEye Messenger communicates through HTTP with an SMS gateway over the internet. For this to work, you will have to select one of the 4 available proxy settings to allow communication.

Here are the available settings:
1. Directly connect to internet: select this option if you use a dial up connection
2. Proxy config from registry: connect to the internet through a LAN
3. Proxy confirm from registry, no scripts: use if you connect to the internet through a LAN, but do not want to run automated scripts
4. User Proxy List: - this enables you to specify a proxy server

Proxy server or IP: proxy address
Port: port number

You can enter the proxy username and password, if needed, to connect to your proxy server.

Should you wish to set the proxy settings prior to registration, you can do so by right-clicking on the NotifEye Messenger icon in the system tray.

If you have already registered the program, you can access these settings in the 'Options' tab of the program.
Carry out these steps:
1. Open McAfee firewall.
2. Select 'control internet programs' from the menu on the left hand side of the application.
3. Search for NotifEye Messenger in the list and select the program.
4. Then select 'allow this program to have full, unfiltered access to the internet'.

These changes do not seem to always take affect immediately and may require you to restart the computer.

5. Try to run NotifEye Messenger again after this.
The account details and balance for the NotifEye Messenger account is kept online with NotifEye. This allows a NotifEye Messenger account to be used from many computers by different users all using the same username and password.

The application can thus be installed on many different computers. Please note that the address book information is kept locally on each computer where it is installed. Users will thus be able to share an account balance but not address book and outbox information.
